Messina: Computational CA and AG

There will be an International School on computational commutative algebra and algebraic geometry 17-29 October 2011 in Messina, Villa Pace, Italy.
The aim of the school is to introduce young mathematicians to recent developments in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry emphasizing the connection with Combinatorics.
The program will be as follows.
Lectures, 17-21 October:

  • Juergen Herzog (University of Essen, Germany): Selected applications of Groebner bases theory in Commutative Algebra.
  • Volkmar Welker (University of Marburg, Germany) : Selected applications of Combinatorics in Commutative Algebra.

Lectures, 24-28 October:

  • Cristodor Ionescu (Academy of Bucarest, Romania): Algebraic invariants of commutative rings with geometric applications.
  • Mustapha Lahyane (University of Michoacan, Mexico): Geometry of Rational Surfaces  with a  View Toward Coding Theory.

29 October: Workshop
