There will be a mini-workshop on “Limits in characterstic p” in Lincoln, Nebraska on Oct 19-21, 2013.
The workshop is partially sponsored by NSF and the University of Nebraska, and will focus on a recently emerging theme: the existence of certain limits defined over rings of positive characteristics. Some examples are F-splitting numbers and higher Hilbert-Kunz multiplicities. A number of interesting applications and connections to other topics will be discussed: rational singularity in chracteristic p, depth of cyclic covers, annihilators of local cohomology.
For more information, see the web page for the workshop.
