A Macaulay2 Conference

Cornell University will host the first Macaulay2 conference, organized by Macaulay2 authors Mike Stillman and Dan Grayson, together with David Eisenbud, March 16-19, 2008.
The meeting will begin with some surveys of recent work on the Boij-Soederberg conjectures, in which Macaulay2 has already played a major role. Starting the second day there will be talks of different kinds. Some will present more research for which Macaulay2 was useful or would likely be useful. Others will present useful algorithms or packages written in Macaulay2; or algorithms that would be useful in a future version of Macaulay2. Not everyone coming will be a Macaulay2 expert, so this would also be an opportunity to learn Macaulay2 or to improve your Macaulay2 skills. There is no registration fee.
For more information, including registration, hotel and travel information, and funding, please see the conference web page.
