The 2006 International Congress of Mathematicians will be held in Madrid (Spain) from 22 to 30 August, 2006. While there are no plenary lectures scheduled in commutative algebra proper, there are several that may be of interest to commutative algebraists, including (at least):
- Jean-Pierre Demailly, “Compact Kähler manifolds and transcendental techniques in algebraic geometry”, and
- Ib Madsen, “Moduli spaces from a topological viewpoint”
There will also be a Section on Algebra.
Finally, there are a number of satellite conferences scheduled around the time of the ICM, including:
- Satellite conference on Algebraic Geometry, Segovia (Spain) August 16-19
- Workshop on Triangulated Categories, Leeds (UK), August 13-19
- CIMPA-School: New Trends in Singularities, Madrid (Spain), August 14-21
