The 2005 Fall Central Section meeting of the AMS, in Lincoln, Nebraska, October 21-23, will have several Special Sessions of interest to commutative algebraists.
- Brian Harbourne (Nebraska) and Bangere Purnaprajna (Kansas) will organize a Special Session on Algebraic Geometry.
- Lars Christensen (Nebraska), Srikanth Iyengar (Nebraska), and Sean Sather-Wagstaff (Nebraska) will organize a Special Session on Commutative Algebra. See the organizers’ webpage for the session.
- Christian Haesemeyer (Illinois), Greg Piepmeyer (Nebraska), and Mark Walker (Nebraska) will organize a Special Session on K-theory and Algebraic Cycles.
- Roger Wiegand (Nebraska) and Sylvia Wiegand (Nebraska) will organize a Special Session on Representation Theory of Noetherian Rings. See the session website for more information.
Note that the Friday afternoon talks in the second and fourth sessions will be held jointly.
