The First Joint Meeting of the AMS and the Unione Matematica Italiana will be in Pisa, Italy, June 12-16. There will be:
1. A Special Session on Algebraic Vector Bundles (organized by Vincenzo Ancona, University of Firenze, Mohan Kumar, Giorgio Maria Ottaviani, Christopher Peterson, and Prabhakar Rao),

3. A Special Session on Commutative Algebra: Hilbert Functions, Homological Methods and Combinatorial Aspects (organized by Aldo Conca, Anna Guerrieri, Claudia Polini, and Bernd Ulrich).
4. A Special Session on Commutative Rings and Integer-valued Polynomials (organized by S. Gabelli and T. G. Lucas).
